ALZILLA (Short Film)

ALZILLA has been officially selected for the 2025 Fear Fame Festival! The film will screen at NCG Cinemas in the Citrus Park Town Center Mall (Tampa, Florida) on Saturday, November 8th, during the Short Films Block starting at 1:38 p.m

ALZILLA also received an official selection and a Best Director nomination at the Wicked Realm Film Festival 4!

David’s latest short film, ALZILLA, won Gold Awards for Best Soundtrack, Best Science Fiction Film, Best Family-Friendly Film, and Best Special Effects at the Global INDIE Filmmaker Awards. It also won a Visual Effects Award at the 2025 Tokyo Film and Screenplay Awards for October! Bringing giant Alistair to life was a creative adventure — combining practical green screen work, digital compositing, and licensed effects assets to tell our story. In addition, it was recognized as the Best Family Film at the FantaSci Film Festival. Since its release, ALZILLA has had the privilege of screening at various film festivals, including the Central Florida Film Festival, the Golden State Film Festival, and the Wicked Realm Film Festival 4. ALZILLA shared the audience award with another film titled Hurricane Maria: The Survival of Puerto Ricans at the 2025 Central Florida Film Slam in February.

Recording the score for ALZILLA: Behind the Scenes Video

A behind-the-scenes look at the recording session for the ALZILLA soundtrack performed by 44 musicians (strings, brass, woodwinds) with the Fames Project Orchestra. Virtual percussion, choir, piano, and harp were added to the final mixes.

Recorded with live strings, brass, and woodwinds by the Fames Project - Orchestral Music Recording, thanks to the support of our Indiegogo campaign backers. Virtual percussion, orchestra, and choir were added to complete the score.

The film won a Platinum award for Best Movie Short and Best Children's Film at the 2023 Fortean Film Festival. David also won the Best Filmmaker Fantasy Short award for Winter 2022 at the Freewheeling Film Awards in London, England.
